The Great Digi Scrap-Off Verson 2.0

Hi everyone!  If you've been with me within the last year you may recall me talking about participating in Pickleberry Pop's first-ever Great Digi Scrap Off this past March. As it happened, I won that particular event, and enjoyed a 3-month-long guest spot on the PBP Creative team as my Grand Prize.  The folks at PBP had such a good time with the event they decided to make it a bi-annual event; hence, I just finished GDSO 2.0, held during the entire month of September.  I wasn't initially sure I was going to participate this time around since I had a lot of other things going on, but I CANNOT resist a good digiscrapping challenge event, and here we are. This post is to show you all the layouts I completed for the event!

The forum section that lists all the requirements for the different challenges is HERE. I didn't list the supply credits here since for the most part, they are all products I have used and shown you before. You can check out my gallery at Pickleberry Pop HERE, and clicking on the layouts there will give you all the info you need if you're interested in checking out the products I used!

Here are all my challenge layouts, listed in order by week; there were 3 per week for 5 weeks!

Mix Two Templates:

Something Old, Something New:

Use It All Mini:

Clean and Dirty:

Mystery Box:

Rule of Thirds:

Improving Color using White Balance:

Template Challenge:

Make Your Own Cluster:

Photography Challenge:

 Out of Bounds Masking Challenge:

Berry Big Deals Challenge:

Extraction Challenge:

Second Summer Collab Challenge:

and, last but not least, a Background and Photo Blending Challenge:

I really had a lot of fun doing this event again...the pace was not too demanding, and I really like working with the products that they have at Pickleberry Pop. I didn't win any special awards this time around, but all the qualifying participants received the Second Summer collab and a $10 gift certificate, so that's a nice reward! I just wish I had more time to spend there, but with my responsibilities at Oscraps and the fact that I'm going back to work next month, well, it's just another example of how your real life can interfere with your scrapping life! They are going to hold the event twice a year, so the next one will be in March...we'll see if I find myself involved in it next time around!

In the meantime, there will be layouts from Oscraps designers to show you, so make sure you come back and see me soon!

Color Play Time at Oscraps!

Hi all! The last weekend of the month always brings us to Color Play time at Oscraps, and July is no exception. There's a whole category of coordinating products available on sale for up to 50% off from now through Monday, August 1st. I grabbed some goodies from ViVa Artistry called Forgotten World:

I've been doing a lot of cluster-y layouts lately and wanted to do a relatively clean design. You might notice, however, that for a C&S page I ended up with a lot going on; I just couldn't help myself!

Another layout I did with the Color Play collection is this one:

I used a mini kit called Today by Palvinka Designs:

As I mentioned last time in my Berry Big Deal (at Pickleberry Pop) post, it's really wonderful to see how much variety you can get from the same color palette!

Speaking of Pickleberry Pop, I have here my final layout that I've created as a guest Creative Team member at PBP. My stay was meant to be three months long, and although I was offered a permanent position on the team 💓, I had to decline. Being a CT member is more than just making layouts and I knew that I would struggle to fulfill all the other requirements that stores expect (and rightly so) since I'm still on the CT at Oscraps. Anyways, here is my page:

I used a vintage-themed collection from Dutch Dream Designs called Yesterday Is Here:

As you can see, I didn't make a vintage layout...that's how versatile so many of these products can be!

With my Creative Team duties going back to just Oscraps, I probably won't be posting as much, but I do hope that you'll stick with me and come back and see me soon!

July's Berry Big Deals!

Hi everyone! It's Berry Big Deal time at Pickleberry Pop - lots of products that share the same color palette and will coordinate with each other are on sale from today through the 22nd. The palette this month is GORGEOUS and I wanted to scrap with All.The.Things! But I'm a slow scrapper, so I had to restrain myself, lol. Here's what I did manage to accomplish!

Heather T. came up with a fabulous collection that is perfect for scrapping photos of my outdoorsy daughter. Take a look at Trail Adventures:

I scrapped a photo of my daughter and her partner in (adventure) crime:

Another BBD collection I grabbed was Choose Joy by Lorie M Designs:

This really cute kit was perfect to scrap this photo of my little niece:

See how you can get such varied results using products that will also work well together? That's the beauty of Berry Big Deals!

In other scrapping, I participated in a couple more challenges. Over at Oscraps, the Copy Cat Challenge asked participants to choose a layout from the gallery of member Hildy and create their own page based on it. I chose this layout to lift:

Here's my interpretation of her layout:

I used Inspi(art)ion by Simplette

I can't believe it took me this long to participate in the July Color Challenge at Just Art Scrapbooking, seeing as how the color to work with is lavender and my favorite color is any shade of purple!  Here's my page:

I used a kit that was released a few months ago at Oscraps during their Color Play weekend; Spring Daze by Lynn Grieveson:

That's it for today! If the Berry Big Deal colors appeal to you the way they did to me, hop over to the shop HERE by July 22nd to snap up the goodies while they're on sale! We're having a very warm week weather-wise, so stay cool, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

Scrapping This Week

Hi everyone! I'm here this week to show you the pages I've done since my last post. A couple are challenge layouts, and a couple are from a new release. Challenges first!

Over at Oscraps, Lynn Grieveson has her monthly Featured Product challenge. This month's product is Positivity:

While not the theme of the collection, there was enough red, white, and blue for me to scrap an Independence Day page:

At Pickleberry Pop, I participated in Joanna's Two-Page Challenge. The requirements were that you create a layout that covered two 12x12 pages and the title of the layout had to flow across both pages. I rarely do two-page layouts, but I have found that the landscape photos I like to take are sometimes hard to fit on one page without being tiny, so this seemed a good opportunity to scrap a recent sunset photo that I took:

I used a recent release by Simplette called Sunset Lover:

I also worked with a new release by Heather T. called Beach Feet:

I did two pages with this collection. The first features my little nephew having fun at the lake on July 4th:

I also did this layout; actually, I started this one first and got stuck partway through; it didn't look done but I couldn't figure out how I wanted to move forward, so I just left it as it is:

Such is the creative life, lol! Anyways, as a new release, Beach Feet is on sale for a short time at Pickleberry Pop; Positivity is also on sale over at Oscraps as a Featured Product; I advise you to check them all out, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

Free With Purchase at Pickleberry Pop!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a safe and happy July 4th holiday weekend. With this being the first full week of the month, it's time for a new Berry Blends Kit at Pickleberry Pop! Take a look at One Summer Day:

It's by Jen Yurko, Just Because Studio, and Lorie M Designs, and it's FREE With any $15 Purchase at Pickleberry Pop through July 12th! Here's a page I made with the kit; I'm going to post it for a Quote challenge over at Just Art Scrapbooking:

The three designers have also individually created coordinating packs of goodies that you can grab to round out your stash, so check out the shop HERE before the 12th!

Speaking of challenges, since my last post I participated in a Lyrics/Poems challenge over at Oscraps. The twist on the challenge this month was that you had to use verses that consisted of "nonsense" words. I knew just what I wanted to scrap:

The image of the soldier came from Pixabay, but everything else was made using Vita Bella Add-On 1 by ViVa Artistry:

It was a really fun and unique challenge to participate in; if you're curious to see the story of the lyrics I used and see how other participants interpreted the challenge, you can take a look HERE.

I also participated in Karen Schulz's Use It All Challenge at Oscraps. Here is the mini kit that we were given to work with:

It coordinates with her Empty Nesters Collection, which is her Featured Collection this month.  When you download the mini, there will be info on how you can get the collection on sale! Anyways, here is my page, using only what was in the freebie:

That's a wrap for today! We've had a warm and steamy June, and word is it's just going to keep on being that way for a while, so stay cool, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

Welcome to July!

Hi all! Time rolls on and it's the start of a new month! As usual, flipping the virtual calendar page means new challenges to play in at the various digiscrapping sites. To that end, I've got a couple of pages to show you!

As a guest Creative Team member at Pickleberry Pop, I was asked to host a challenge for July. My challenge is a Multi-frame Challenge. The twist I put on it was that you had to use at least 3 frames and they had to be stacked or at least touching each other. Here's my example layout:

It's a silly picture and I had fun with this page! I used Catified by On A Whimsical Adventure:

Over at Oscraps, I've already participated in Vicki Robinson's Featured Product challenge. You are given some prompts to use on your layout, and then you have free rein to do whatever else you want. You get bonus points if you use her featured product for the month. Here's the prompts:

...and here is her featured product, Junque Journal 02:

It's on sale for the month of July, if you're interested! Here's my layout:

Have a safe Independence Day if you celebrate it, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

New This Week!

Hi all! I've got a couple of pages for you this week.  Oscraps is thrilled to announce an addition to the design team - CRK Designs' shop is open and on sale for 40% off through June 30th. Carolyn specializes in a traditional style of scrapbooking, and her shop is already full of goodies. I worked with her Prehistoric bundle:

I picked this bundle to play with because I actually had a dinosaur photo that I took at the zoo a few weeks ago that I wanted to scrap:

Over at Pickleberry Pop, new releases are out today, and I worked with a pretty number called Pieces of the Past by Dutch Dream Designs:

I was going through a box of photos the other day and came across a picture of two of my nieces in 1996 that I decided would be shown off by this kit perfectly:

As usual, I want to remind you that while I almost always work with a full bundle, all the individual components are available as separate packs, so pick and choose to your heart's content!

All right, that's it for today! Stay cool, and make sure you come back and see me soon!
