Winter Scrapping

Hi all! It's been almost a month since my last post, can you believe it? I've been participating in the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad, and creating a new layout every day is keeping my scrapping attention mostly there for the month. When the challenge is over, I'll do a layout showing all the pages I've made.

In the meantime, I have been doing some of my normal scrapping at Oscraps. For the most part, I've been focusing on challenges here as well for inspiration. First up is this page I did for Kay's Border Challenge-you had to create your own border and had to offset it a little so you could see the whole thing:

 

All those goodies came from a brand new collection from Karen Schulz Designs called Life After 50: 

 

I also participated in a Color Challenge, where you had to use at least 3 of the colors in this palette:

 

I had a photo I took last winter that was very similar to the the inspiration for the palette, so I scrapped that:

 

The kit I used is a newer release from Simplette Designs called Maestoso. It's a music-themed product but had the right colors and was versatile enough for my winter page!  

Finally, here's a layout I started the year off with. It was done for the Momma O challenge at Oscraps, asking participants to scrap about new beginnings with products by Vicki Stegall. Coincidentally, our family celebrating a special new beginning right after Christmas:
