Merry Christmas to all! I hope that you and yours are having a wonderful day and are looking forward to a hope-filled New Year. After celebrating with family last evening, I'm spending the day quietly here at home, and thought I'd catch you up on my latest digital scrapbooking adventures.
With the 12 Days of December event at Oscraps in full swing, most of my recent pages were holiday themed. For example, the Day 1 Challenge is a template challenge. Here's the template we were given:
Here's my take on the challenge:
I surprised myself by combining a variety of products, something I don't often do, but am getting more comfortable with:
The little birds came from Hope, the 2020 December collab by the Oscraps Design Team:
At the other end of the event, Day 12 is the Scrap Lyrics of a Christmas Song Challenge:
"Walking in the Air" is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982
animated film of Raymond Briggs' 1978 children's book The Snowman. It's
one of my favorite Christmas movies ever, and I just love the song. This layout was also little unusual for me, since I don't typically create scenes in my pages, but this one was fun and I like how it came out. Most of the components came from the Oscraps Christmas Collaboration kit, Home For The
Holidays, which was available as a free download during the event. The collaboration will be available in the store soon:
...and that cute little bunny came from Hope and Love by emeto designs: The next challenge I participated in was the Day 3 Chain Scraplift Challenge. Participants were asked to choose a layout from the gallery of the person who posted in the thread directly above their post. I selected this layout by prettypeony:
I couldn't for the life of me end up with swirls that I liked, so I went with more familiar territory, paint splats and blends:

As you can see, not all the challenge layouts have to be holiday-related, and while the opportunity to earn entries into the Grand Prize drawing has ended, you have until the end of the month to complete any challenge layouts. Those challenges each have their own prizes, so consider participating if you haven't already done so! The challenge forum is HERE.
I have one final project to show you. Just Art Scrapbooking hosts an Artist Trading Card challenge each month in their forum, and while I don't always participate in that particular challenge, sometimes it's fun to get a little mini-layout done. This month's theme was Christmas, Hanukkah, or affirmations/words of wisdom. I chose the last one, having recently come across this verse that was a big part of my self-talk many years ago:
Once again, I used emeto design's Hope and Love. That kit is sure coming in handy this month! All caught up again! I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday season; I hope to get a little more scrapping done before the end of the year, so come back and see me soon!
