Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day Weekend!

Hi all!  If you're a digital scrapbooker, you've probably heard of Digital Scrapbooking Day, and if you haven't before, well, now you have!  DSD is celebrated the first Saturday in November each year, with sales, games, and general fun stuff.  The festivities start a little early at some forums, so let me tell you what's up!

At Pixels and Company, Digital Scrapbook Ingredients has a wonderful template Grab Bag available for DSD:

http://pixelsandcompany.com/shop/DSI-Lay-Out-Your-Day-Grab-Bag.html

I just loved these templates!  I used them for a couple of pages...for the first one,  I combined a template with a lovely new seasonal kit called All Year Round-November:

http://pixelsandcompany.com/shop/DSI-All-Year-Round-November.html

The second page uses a different template with DSI's contribution to the November Company Stash at Pixels and Co., a set of papers and elements called Yesteryear:

And here are the pages!

Also at Pixels and Company is a sweet mini kit from Wishing Well Creations called Count Your Blessings:

Here's the layout I did with it:

You can grab the mini as a stand-alone kit HERE or as part of a value-added larger collection  HERE, on sale through Sunday!

Over on The Digichick side of town, DSD is in full swing too!  The Design Team has released their final quarterly collab of the year, a gorgeous number called We Are Memorykeepers:

The fun colors prompted me to scrap these fun pictures from earlier this year:

Also new this week is the return of Paper Garden Projects after a hiatus from designing.  I grabbed Cathrine's first new release, this lovely kit called Autumn Doodles:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Autumn-Doodles-Digital-Kit.html

I just loved the subtle colors in this kit:

These goodies are on sale through the weekend as well, so check them out while the DSD sales are in effect!  Enjoy your weekend, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

New Stuffs!

Hi all!  How is your October going?  I had to scrape frost off my windshield this morning. Brrr, but the weather is supposed to be milder for the next week or so, so it's all good!  Here's what's new this week!

Kimeric Kreations is in full Halloween mode with this amazing new collection called Hallowtide:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Hallowtide-collection.html

I used it to scrap a Halloween photo from many years ago:

I loved how I could make the page sort of sweet, not spooky!  The collection is on sale HERE at The Digichick for 30% off through Sunday evening, and as always, individual pieces are available if you don't need the whole thing.

In other news, in this post I showed you a layout I did for a contest at Pixels and Company that was sponsored by Digital Scrapbook Ingredients.  Top prize was a 3-month guest Creative Team position on the team, and while I wasn't that winner, Willemijne contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I'd like to guest on her team as well!  What fun!  Of course I said yes, and here is the first goodie I have worked with, a collaboration with Amber Shaw called The Good Stuff:

I created this layout:

You can grab the collab HERE.  That's it for today!  Enjoy your week, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

Introvert

Hi all! I'm glad to see you back here!  Introvert is not only a term that I think applies to me, but is the name of a new collection from Lonetta Avalar of Creative Victorian:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Introvert-Collection.html

I totally fell in love with the palette and decided to use it for a template challenge, scrapping a collection of photos that always make me a little sad when I see them:

The collection is on sale for 30% off HERE through Sunday evening, and as usual, the various portions are available individually of you don't need the whole set.

In other news, if you'll remember, in this post I told you about my participation in the Cropped event at Pixels and Company.  I'm happy to report that I did make it to Round 3 and will find out tomorrow if I make it into Round 4.  Here's my layout for this week's challenge, the requirements being to use the 4 provided ingredients and "get creative in showing us what you "see". Whether it's a layout about something you see every day, or where you see yourself in ten years, we can't wait to see it, and we want you to be creative in the way you show us! This is also the one round where photography will be heavily judged. (*Please note: This does not mean that your photo must be technically correct, but it does mean that the photo should really showcase your subject and/or evoke emotion with your theme.)":

Only 18 scrappers will move on to the next round, so wish me luck, and come back and see me soon!

Early Autumn Splendor

Hi all!  Well, it's the second week of October, and the scrapping is all about fall and Halloween.  That's okay with me!  Here's what I worked with this week:

Kimeric Kreations has another huge collection out called Early Autumn Splendor:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Early-Autumn-Splendor-collection.html

I grabbed the main kit, the pack of solid papers, and the graffiti pack to do this page:

The style of the layout is one I've seen done before but not really tried too often.  I love how it came out!  You can grab the whole collection HERE on sale through Sunday, and if, like me, you don't need all of it, the individual protions are available separately as well!

Challenging

Hi all!  I was tidying up my scrapbooking folders and realized that I have a few layouts that I haven't posted here.  They were all done for one sort of challenge or another...what better way to get creative juices flowing than a scrapbooking challenge!  There's a few pages here, so grab a refreshing beverage and take a look!

I just did this page the other day for the Use It All challenge at The Digichick:

This layout was done for a Then And Now challenge at Pixels and Company:

This next page was done for a Featured Designer challenge at Pixels and Company.  The designer,  Digital Scrapbook Ingredients, offered up a great kit at a great price and a coordinating add-on free mini kit and gave you the chance to upload layouts to win prizes.  I didn't win anything but I love the layout:

My next layout was also done for a challenge at Pixels and Company, this time a color challenge.  Wishing Well Creations' kit Autumn Splendor had just the right colors:

My last two pages today are ones I created as a contestant in the Cropped challenge that is being held this month at Pixels and Company.  This is an elimination event, with a new round each week, and with fewer and fewer scrappers being selected to move on to each next round.  I was one of 50 contestants who were selected from the 109 entries in Round 1 to move on to Round 2!  Here are my Round 1 and Round 2 entries:

Round 1:  Use the 4 provided ingredients AND at least one item from at least 10 different designers at P&Co:

Round 2:  Use the 4 provided ingredients and "focus on the use of typography/word art to convey the message of your layout, as well as add to the visual design":

Only 30 scrappers are moving on to Round 3, and I'll find out Friday if I'm one of them.  In the meantime, I'm working with more new releases, so make sure you come back and see me soon!

Join me HERE if you want to join in the fun!

The October Stash is out at Pixels and Company, and I grabbed Wishing Well Creations' portion, called This Is My Story:

http://pixelsandcompany.com/shop/This-Is-My-Story-Collection.html

I scrapped this photo of my family, as they are the biggest part of my story (and the colors worked well, too!):

As usual, portions of the collection are available separately if you don't need the whole set, and everything is on sale through Sunday, so check it out HERE, and then come back and see me soon!
