A Couple of Pages To Show You

Hi all!  I scrapped a couple of pages over the weekend.  One was for a challenge, and one is a new release from Wishing Well Creations!  The first page, done for a sketch challenge at Scrapbook Challenges, was done with a recent kit from Gypsy Couture Design Company called Shine On Girl:

As I'm known to do, I grabbed some photos from my niece's Facebook page and did this layout:

You can grab the kit HERE at The Digichick!

Dollar Days continues at Pixels & Company until the end of January, and Laura of Wishing Well Creations got the itch to create a fun mini kit, which after much discussion amongst her creative team, is called Daily Slice of Life:

I totally went with the pie chart theme and did this layout for the Jump Start January Challenge at Pixels & Co., lifting a layout with a similar circular focus:

The Dollar Days sale ends this Friday, so grab this kit HERE while you can!  Stay warm, and come back and see me soon!

Challenges

And I'm not talking about the weather!  Hi all!  Cold enough for ya?  I am more than a little tired of the weather this winter, even though we haven't personally suffered as much as others.

I've had a little bit of scrapping down time, so I decided to participate in some challenges at The Digichick.  This first layout is for a challenge that asked you to use some "snow" themed elements on your page.  Not a tough call, I had just the photos, two images of my poor little Dwarf Alberta Spruce taken about a week apart!

The journaling is a little hard to read, but it basically just complains about the snow and record low temperatures we have had so far, lol!  I used  Sugar Sands Boardwalk Christmas by Etc. by Danyale and Snow Much Fun by Stellajane Design.  Danyale is retiring a lot of her products this month and is offering them at a deep discount, so you may want to check out her shop before the end of the month!

The other challenge I did is an Art Journaling challenge, asking you to incorporate the word "laugh" on your page.  I wanted to go photoless for this page, so I found a quote about laughter and scrapped that:

The challenge started you off with some free papers and elements, and for the rest of the layout I used bits and pieces from A Moment, Recipe Box, Timeless Moments, and Here and Now, all by Etc. by Danyale.

Both challenges and more are on until the end of the month, so you can still enter them!  Of course, February will bring new challenges, and that month I will be intimately involved in two of them, so make sure you come back and see me soon!

Celebrate!

Hi all!  How is January treating you?  Cornelia of Cornelia Designs has a soft spot in her heart for the month because several members of her family have birthdays in January.  To that end, she has released this collection of birthday-themed templates called Celebrate:

There are full-page templates, templates to customize your own journaling cards, and templates to create coordinating word art.  I actually did two pages with this collection:

As always, the collection is on sale HERE for 30% off through the weekend, and if you only need certain parts, each portion is available separately as well.

That's it for today, off to work I go!  Enjoy the rest of your week, and comeback and see me soon!

Gotta Love a Sale!

Hi all!  I'm glad to be back here, showing you what I have scrapped lately.  There are some awesome sales going on right now that can help you stretch your scrapping dollar!

First up is the monthly Grab-a-Byte sale at Scrapbookbytes, were you can mix and match pieces to make a collection as customized as you'd like!  Here is a look at Bucket List, the contribution from Ohana Designs:

I totally love the neutral colors, and the shabby feel sent me right into my Mom's photo albums again for some heritage photos:

Pixels and Company is also having their annual Dollar Days sale.  Kelleigh Ratzlaff, a Wishing Well Creations Creative Team buddy and a designer in her own shop, created a set of papers and elements that combine to create this kit called In the Moment:

I used the collection to do this layout for a challenge at P & Co:

All these pieces are on sale for $1 each for a limited time, so snap them up right away, then come back and see me soon!

New Challenges in 2014

Hi all!  While I'm sitting here resting between trips outside to shovel the ever-falling snow, I thought I would invite you to join in my January Desktop Challenge over at The Digichick!  My theme for this month was the concept NEW, interpreted any way you would like.  My take on "new" was to get all art-journaly with my desktop background, art journaling being a new-to-me style of scrapping that I've been playing around with lately:

The kit I used is Winter Dream by Gypsy Couture, the Featured Designer at The Digichick this month:

Speaking of new, we have pretty much overhauled the challenges at The Digichick.  The point earning system is the same, but we have added a variety of new challenges, many of them offering freebies to get you started, or as rewards for playing along.  Check them out HERE, won't you?  Then come back and see me soon!

Farewell to 2013

My Photo-a-Day project for 2013, that is!

Hi all!  Yesterday I finished up my last pages of the project, which I consider to be only a moderate success.  Why?  Well, I have no photos for July, since the site that I started the project with abruptly stopped offering prompts and it took me a while to find a new site so that I could keep on going.  Also, even though I gave myself permission to skip days if the prompt for that day didn't resonate with me, I still ended up feeling bad for not actually taking more photos.  So many times I had every intention of taking that day's photo and just didn't.  Even cheating a bit by going back and taking photos later in the month didn't help much.  So. I'm going to take a break in 2014.  Here are my pages for November and December 2013. As always with this project, all the templates and supplies came from Laura of Wishing Well Creations:

See how the second half of November only had 3 photos?  Fail!  lol.  It's not all bad, though.  Just like my Project Life in 2010, doing this project did open my eyes to the things around me that might seem mundane but still had enough merit to warrant a photo.  So, I'll probably still randomly snap photos just to amuse myself or to incorporate into a regular layout if I feel like it.

I hope that in 2014 you will come back and see me soon!
