End of November

Hi all!  Can you believe it?  Thanksgiving is 2 days gone, there's a dusting of snow on the ground, and Christmas music is being played over the airwaves.  With the holiday shopping season off to a start, new things are afoot in the digi-scrapping world too!

November is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and at the request of a Creative Team member, Ohana Designs has released this kit called Endurance:

I thought the colors worked well for this photo of my cousins that I came across recently:

With the closing of ScrapMatters, Val of geniaBeana Scraps is starting a guest spot at One Story Down.  She created Thankful Heart a while ago but it was never placed in her SM store.  Now, you can find it HERE at OSD:

I thought the soft colors and sweet elements were perfect for this photo:

Moving on in to the season, here is a lovely holiday kit from Etc by Danyale called Christmas Memories:

I recently borrowed an old photo album from my sister-in-law, and thought this vintage kit was perfect for this vintage photo:

Last but certainly not least is this fun collab by Wishing Well Creations and Stolen Moments Designs called Woodsy Winterland:

Back I went to that old photo album for this layout:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and come back and see me soon!

Catching Up on Photo-a-Day

Hi all!  As promised, I finished up my pages for September and October and I'm here to show them off.  As usual, I used the Everyday Life 2013 collection from Wishing Well Creations:

You can check it out HERE, and the Everyday Life Template Bundle I used HERE.  Now, without further ado, I give you my latest Photo-a-Day:

Alright, that's it for today! Have a good weekend, and come back and see me soon!

Love Bomb

Isn't that a great name for a kit?  I thought so!  Hi all!  I'm here today to show you this sassy, fun kit from Gypsy Couture Design Co.:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Love-Bomb.html

The fun elements and gorgeous papers lend themselves well to the art-journal style of scrapping that I've been dabbling in lately.  Take a look:

You can grab this kit HERE at The Digichick, on sale for 30% off through the weekend.  I used a Tattered Alpha by Gypsy Couture as well that you can grab HERE.

Hey!  I'm finally working on my Photo-a-Day pages for September and October and should have them up in a couple of days.  So come back and see me soon!

Seasonal

Hi all!  How's the weather in your neck of the woods?   We had our first snow of the fall earlier this week!  Seasons are definitely changing here , both in real life and in the scrapping world.  Holiday kits are making an appearance, and I played with some seasonal releases this week.

First of all, Thanksgiving and the Jewish holiday Hanukkah fall on the same day this year, which apparently happens very rarely.  The event is being called Thanksgivukah, and Kim of Kimeric Kreations was asked to create a kit for the occasion.  It's called, simply enough, Thanksgivukah:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Thanksgivukah.html

I had some photos from Thanksgiving last year that hadn't been scrapped yet, and this kit was perfect for that:

Giny Scraps has released a kit that addresses the effect that darker days and longer nights can have on folks, called Autumn Depression:

Luckily, the kit is bright enough to scrap happy pages too!  We had some discussion on the team whether to scrap happy or sad pages.  I rarely (actually, almost never) scrap sad, moody pages, but a recent photo my sister sent me was lingering in the back of my mind and this kit seemed a perfect fit for how the photo made me feel:

I have a happy page I'm going to scrap with this kit too, so I hope you will come back and see me soon!

Challenging

Hi all! How is November treating everyone?  I had a busy week at work, so luckily there weren't too many responsibilities in my post-DSD scrapping life.  I focused on fun!  I took part in a couple of challenges just for the heck of it.

Here's my first layout, a page done for a quote challenge at Scrapbook Bytes.  I don't usually do quote challenges because often the quote offered doesn't "click" for me, but this time it did:

I mostly used pieces from Build It by Ohana Designs, but some elements from other SBB designers as well.

This next layout actually worked well for several challenges at various sites.  "Thanksgiving" is a frequent theme this month for challenges, and I mentioned last month that art journaling is piquing my interest, so I combined those two themes for this layout:

I used three kits for this page, which is something new for me as well, since I usually don't mix kits: Moon Laughs and Whispers by Etc. by Danyale, Oiche Shamhna Collection by Kimeric Kreations, and La Bella Vida, the November Digichicks Around the World collab by the Digichick Design Team.

That's it for today, short and sweet!  Come back and see me soon!

Digital Scrapbooking Day is Here!

Hi all!  Well, it's DSD, and as promised, I've got a few goodies to show you.

Laura of Wishing Well Creations has created an enormous collection called 25 Days:

http://pixelsandcompany.com/shop/25-Days-Full-Collection.html

It's geared towards scrappers who do December Daily or Project Life pages, but it works for those of who don't do those projects as well!  I used it to scrap this layout about last year's Christmas Day:

GeniaBeana Scraps also has a new release, a Grab Bag valued at $19 available only this weekend for $5!  It's called Oh Shoot:

Here's a closer look at the main kit:

With the theme of the grab bag being photography, I decided to scrap some photos of my grandkitty:

I hope you are enjoying yourself this fun Saturday, and I hope you come back and see me soon!
