Countdown to DSD

Hi all!  If you are a member of the digital scrapbooking community, then you know that this Saturday, Nov. 2, is Digital Scrapbooking Day.  And if you aren't a digi-scrapper, well, now you know too!  DSD is one of two big sale events (the other is International Scrapbooking Day in May) that celebrate this awesome hobby.  Shoppers can score products at deep discounts, but if your money is a little tight, there are freebies galore and challenges and contests to participate in.  To that end, I'm here today to give you a glimpse into the festivities for the weekend, many of which started today and continue through Monday!

The Digichick is having a store wide DSD Weekend Event  with deep discounts on lots of items in the shop.  You can earn prize drawing entries by shopping or just plain browsing:

Click on the images to be taken to the appropriate spots.  A special push here for the scavenger hunt...I was very involved in developing this challenge and I'd love to see a lot of participation!  So check it out HERE, won't you?

In other Digichick news, Thursday is new release day, and since tomorrow is the first of the month, the November Digichicks Around the World collab was released today as well.  Take a look at La Bella Vida, which takes us to Old Mexico:

Also new today is this fun template set from Cornelia Designs called 2 Creative:

I combined the two to do this layout:

In other news, I have joined the creative team of Giny Scrap Designs as a guest for several months.  I had no intention of taking on any more layout work, but when Erika contacted me and had me take a look at her shop, I was hooked.  She has such beautiful creations, and her style of design can lend itself well to art-journaling layouts, which is something I'd like to explore.  She released a new kit a few days after I joined, and I snapped it up right away.  Take a look at Be Happy:

I used it to scrap these happy photos of this happy little girl:

You can find Giny Scraps HERE at DigiScrap Boutique.   All right, that's it for today, but I'll have lots more to show you in the next few days, so come back and see me soon!

New this Week

Hi all!  It's a blustery day here in Michigan, so I'm staying cozy next to my computer!  Let me show you what I've been up to this week:

There's a fun challenge going on at Pixels & Company that asks you to use photobombed pictures in various ways.  To that end, Laura of Wishing Well Creations teamed up with Gennifer Bursett and Dawn by Design to come up with this kit, Photobomb:

It wasn't too hard to find some photos for the challenge:

Of a more timely nature, Etc by Danyale released a fun Halloween kit that seems to be more sweet than spooky.  It's called Night Frolic:

I thought it was perfect for this older Halloween photo:

Fabulous Fall

Hi all!  Remember last post when I told you about all the autumn and Halloween kits that were out?  Well, I'm here today to show you some more goodies I had the honor to play with.

It's Grab-a-Byte time at Scrapbook Bytes, and this time, Michelle of Ohana Designs outdid herself with a full dozen packs that are available for $1 each until October 20th:

I grabbed a handful of papers and elements and did this page for a template challenge at SBB:

Kimeric Kreations has a lovely Halloween collection called Oiche Shamhna (Gaelic for All Hallow's Eve):

I once again found out that the kit was versatile and classy enough for a wedding layout:

You can grab the collection HERE, and never fear, if you don't need the whole thing, each portion is available individually!

Also for Halloween is the annual collab between geniaBeana Scraps and Cluster Queen Creations, a spooky number called What's Your Poison:

I defintely stayed on-theme with this one, scrapping an old Halloween photo:

For a change of pace, take a look at this bright, fun collab from Wishing Well Creations and Scotty Girl Design called Where We Live:

I stayed with the homey theme of the kit and scrapped about my daughter's move into an apartment:

I hope you get a chance to grab up some of these goodies.  Have a good week, and come back to see me soon!

Moon Laughs and Whispers

Isn't that the most awesome name for a kit!  Hi all!  There's more than a few Halloween kits floating around in digiscrap land, and when I saw this kit from Etc. by Danyale, I HAD to grab it up.  Not for a Halloween layout, but to take advantage of the grown-up feel and elegance:

I picked just the right papers and elements for this photo from that family wedding I told you about last post:

See how versatile some of these kits can be?  You can grab Moon Laughs and Whispers HERE! Stayed tuned for more Halloween-y goodies....will I do Halloween pages or not?  Come back and see me soon to find out!

Cort and Scott

Hi all!  How are you this rainy evening?  I'm relaxing after a busy week at work and a weekend trip out of town for a family wedding.  I gave the couple an album with some scrapbook pages I made featuring them.  Take a look, they were mostly made with new releases that are still on sale!

This page was made for a challenge at ScrapbookBytes, using the latest kit from Ohana Designs called Remember Me, with the word art from an Add-On Quote Set:

This layout was done for a challenge at Pixels & Company that wanted you to use a photo that has a water feature:

I used these templates, which are now available in the Wishing Well Creations shop at P&Co:

This cute layout was done using some portions of the October 2013 Company Stash collection by Wishing Well Creations:

Here is a look at the papers and the elements:

More challenge fun!  This one was for an ad-inspired challenge at The Digichick:

Done using the October Digichicks Around the World Collection, Land of the Midnight Sun:

Okay, this last one doesn't feature the happy couple.  Cornelia Designs is creating a set of templates that can chronicle baby's first year, and just released the first set, Numberlicious-Newborn:

All caught up once again!  Enjoy your week, and make sure to come back and see me soon!
