Under Construction

Hi all!  I just wanted to give you a little heads up that I've finally decided to redo my blog a bit.  Of course, I don't have the new template done, but that didn't stop me from taking down the old one.  Hopefully this won't turn into one of those unfinished projects we all know about, don't we?  *winking*  Bear with me; a new month is just around the corner, and new blog look or no, there is a TON going on in May that I'm excited to share with you!  So come back and check on me soon!

I Went to 1972

...to show you what's new this week!  Hi all!  New release day at The Digichick, and I had fun scrapping some photos from 1972.  First, here's a photography-themed kit from Wishing Well Creations called Captured:

I had recently been thinking of some pictures I took when I was a kid, so this kit came along at the perfect time:

I loved that cork background paper!  You can grab the kit HERE.  There were two other photos from this set that I put into a different layout.  I used some fun templates from Cornelia Designs called Tangerine Love, and a lovely kit called Garden of Life from Paper Garden Projects that was inspired by vintage fabric patterns :

Grab the templates HERE.

Grab this kit HERE.  The red calico paper is almost identical to the fabric I used to sew a dress in my 8th grade sewing class, so that became a feature in my layout:

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you have a good week.  Make sure you come back to see me soon...the month of May is going to be jam-packed with digital goodness around here!

New at The Digichick

Hi all!  It's Thursday, and that means it's time to show you some new releases from The Digichick that I worked with today.  Polka Dot Pixels is a guest designer in the shop this month, and I was tickled pink to play with this fun kit called Spree:

Obviously, the theme of the kit is shopping, but I was more enamored of the vintage patterns and elements, and went off-theme for this layout:

That would be me in the little red plaid jumper.  :)

Another inspiring collection is this collab from Charm Box Studios and Etc. by Danyale simply called ASL Bundle:

It caught my eye because of the American Sign Language references.  My daughter took ASL for two semesters in college and hopes to study it more in the future.  I didn't use the cool alpha, but I did use one of the storyboards and the awesome kit to scrap this layout of a different college experience of hers:

Well, I'm going to keep it short and sweet for today. There is a ton of exciting stuff happening around here in May, so rest up, and get ready to come back and see me soon!

Template Thursday!

Hi all!  Greetings from a very wet Michigan.  It has been raining here for 3 days and cold as well.  Mother Nature is taking this April Showers thing a little too far, if you ask me.  Ah well, what to do?  I know!  Scrap!  The new releases at The Digichick that I worked with this week are templates, so let's take a look!

Cornelia Designs has released several new page templates.  Here is the set I worked with, called Point, Set, Match, that you can grab HERE:

I made a page that I posted for a Rainbow Challenge at The Digichick:

Wishing Well Creations has released a set of Die-Cut Mats that would be fun to spice up layouts:

I actually did two layouts from this set:

You can grab these templates HERE.  They will be on sale through the weekend.Working with these bright colors (all the kits are by Wishing Well Creations, by the way) certainly perked up my week!  I hope you enjoyed seeing them, and make sure you come back and see me soon!

Birthday Chic

Hi all! I am so excited to show you this newly released kit, a collaboration between Etc. by Danyale and Sweet Digiscraps! You know how when you see a kit, you get all excited because you know EXACTLY which pictures the kit was made for? That's how I felt when I saw Birthday Chic:

I dove into my Mom's photo albums, grabbed the photos, and this layout is the result:

Isn't it sweet? I think so! You can grab the kit HERE at The Digichick, and if you'd like, there is a  coordinating word art set to be had as well. Here's hoping you're having a good week, and come back and see me soon!

Kit and template are by Wishing Well Creations

I'm holding steady this past month at getting about half the photos taken.  For more on this project, read the bottom of this post.  Make sure you come back and see me tomorrow, I have a lovely new release to show you!

Digichicks Around The World: Samba! Samba!

Hi all!  Happy April Fool's Day!  Here's hoping you don't get fooled by anyone!  Well, it's a new month and that means new digital goodies to play with, so let's go!

The Digichicks Around the World project takes us to Brazil this month, with its energy, excitement, and color.  Take a look at Samba! Samba!:

As with all the Around the World collabs, Samba! Samba! contains the full kit, a couple of templates, and a photo action.  You can check it out HERE at The Digichick.  With the weather still gray and cold outside, I immersed myself in this collab and did the following layouts, both of which use the templates in the collab:

I modified the second layout to create my desktop background for April:

I love making a new background for my desktop each month!  So much, in fact, that when the current hostess for the Desktop Challenge at The Digichick stepped down from her duties, I volunteered to take over!  Come see me HERE if you'd like to take part!

On a little more of a, shall we say, serene note, here's some news:  Chrissy W, template maker extraordinaire, is a guest designer at The Digichick this month!  Chrissy specializes in clean, streamlined templates, and I've been collecting her goodies since I knew what digiscrap templates were!  Here's a look at a page I did with a freebie template Chrissy is offering up as hostess of the Template Challenge at The Digichick this month.  First, the template:

And my page:

Well, that's it for today.  I hope spring is making an appearance in your neck of the woods.  Make sure to come back and see me soon!
