Everyday Life 2013 Continues!

Hi all!  As promised, I'm back to show you new goodies for this week.  If you scroll back a few posts you'll see mention of Wishing Well Creations' Everyday Life 2013 series.  Laura has added a few final pieces this week to round out the collection:

I grabbed some of these new bits, some elements from the earlier parts of the Everyday Life 2013 collection, a template from last year's set, and here you go:

As usual, you can grab the whole bundle or individual pieces.  The coupon that you can use on other parts of the collection is still good too and included in the download!

A little background on this layout.  If you remember, in 2010 I did P365 and posted weekly layouts of my life.  I found it very challenging towards the end of the year and worked hard to get all 365 days photographed.  I decided not to do it again...my life is pretty routine and you can take only so many cat pictures, lol.  But this year I came across THIS POST and found the idea intriguing. I like the idea of having a prompt for each day... it takes the "what am I going to take a picture of today" dilemma out of the way.  I did find, though, that I started missing days right away.  What to do now?  Well, instead of abandoning the project, I decided to give myself permission to just go ahead and not agonize over missing days like I did with P365.  So here you have my first page, with only 11 of the first 16 days done.  Even though they're not all represented, I decided to show all the prompts, just to remind myself of what sort things in my life I was asked to think about.  I also decided not to comment on how each photo matches its prompt.  I think that letting the casual viewer make the connection is fun.

So, come back and see me often...I plan on doing two layouts a month, 2 weeks' worth of prompts on each layout!

Weekend Update!

Hi all!  It's Sunday evening here...I was out of town for a few days for a work-related conference and I'm just now catching up on my favorite things!  I've got some new goodies from The Digichick shop to show you...if you like them, hop over to the shop and scoop them up!

Michelle Batton is a wonderful template designer and I had the opportunity to work with some of her templates for the first time this past week.  This set is called Hooray for Snow Days:

You need paper and elements to work with a template, and I was so happy to grab this lovely delicate kit from Blue Flower Art, who is a guest designer at the shop this month. It's called Gipsy Soul:

Here is a set of coordinating butterfly clusters.  Butterflies!!!!   :)

I mixed a little bit of everything together to do this layout:

That wraps things up for the day. Have a good week, and come back later this week...it's a new month soon and that always means new fun!

Fun Fun Fun!

Hi all!  Well, after a few days of being in a creative funk, I went gonzo working on a couple of layouts that were a little outside my usual scrapping style.  I worked with several goodies that are new in the shop at The Digichick today and will be on sale throughout the weekend, so take a look and see what you think!

First up is an enormous collection that is an ode to scrapping called Scrap Therapy.  It's by the amazing Kimeric Kreations and you can find it HERE in the shop:

As usual, if you don't need the whole collection, the individual parts can be had separately.  Here's the page I came up with:

If you think that the mats in the layout are a little wonky, you're right!  Laura of Wishing Well Creations designed a set of clipping masks that imitate hand-cut paper:

Pretty realistic, huh?  I know MY scissor cutting is never straight! You can grab this set HERE at The Digichick.

My next layout also combines products from two different designers.  Stellajane Designs is releasing this fun winter-themed kit called Snow Much Fun:

Grab the kit HERE, then look around Stellajane's shop for coordinating element stacks, labels and tags, clusters, and journal cards!  Now, take a peek at my layout, and look really close at the buttons to see what else I used:

Can you see them?  They're from this set:

Aren't they cute?  Someone in the forum was looking for stitch sets and a request came up for buttonholes, which I've never seen done digitally before.  A day or two later, look what Donna of Quirky Twerp came up with!  You can get them HERE

All right, that's it for today.  Have fun shopping, and come back and see me soon!

Life 365 from geniaBeana Scraps

Hi all!  I've told you before about the Mix-a-Kit series at ScrapMatters, where each month, designers create bits and pieces from the same palette and offer them up so people can mix and match what they'd like to have.  This month, Val of geniaBeana Scraps went with an edgy, art-journaly theme for her offerings:

You can grab any or all of these pieces at the geniaBeana Shop HERE.  I thought the paint splats were perfect for a photo I just saw and decided to put everything on a kraft paper backgound, also from geniaBeana:

I hope you're having a good weekend and will come back to see me soon!

New this Week from The Digichick!

Hi all!  How is your winter going?  We're headed into a weekend of unseasonably warm weather, so I'm happy.  I'm also SO happy to show you what I've been playing with from The Digichick this last week.

Kimeric Kreations has released this stunning, jewel-toned collection called Completely Quirky.  The collection includes a full kit, a bonus paper pack, an alpha pack, a word art pack and a journal card pack:

I was so happy to be able to grab this collection since I thought it would go perfectly with these photos from New Year's Eve:

The template I used is also by Kimeric Kreations.  You can get it FREE for the month of January by liking her Facebook page!  Remember, too, that all parts of the collection are available separately if you so choose.

If you were with me a couple of years ago you'll remember I participated in P365, where you take one photo a day for a whole year, and in the case of scrapbookers, you create layouts to document your daily life.  With a new year upon us, Laura of Wishing Well Creations has released two new bundles of goodies you can use to create this year's projects:

This year's Everyday Life bundles were designed to coordinate with WWC's Family Funhouse bundle:

All the parts of the bundles are also available individually, but get this:  if you purchase Everday Life 2013 Volume 1 or Volume 2, you'll receive in your download a 50% off coupon for any other Everyday Life product in the Wishing Well Creations shop, even last year's goods!  I used a little bit of Volume 1 and Volume 2 and one of last year's templates to do this layout of my sweet little nieces:

How fun is that chalkboard effect?  It's really popular right now in the crafty world.  Also, a little comment here:  I really ran out of steam about halfway through the year I was doing P365 (in 2010) and decided it just wasn't for me.  But, I came across THIS blog post at My Scrapbook Art, and since they give you prompts each day of what to photograph, I thought I might give it a try, and this collection has everything I  would need to scrap those photos.  So far, I've missed about half the days, but I didn't see any hint of sanctions if you do, lol, so we'll see how it goes.  Come back soon and see me to find out if I'm sticking with it!

New Goodies for You!

Hi all!  My, it's chilly around here! How's the weather where you are?  I've got some goodies that should suit you whether you're in a wintery mood or feeling like something a little milder.

For some winter fun, take a look at Snow Sweet by geniaBeana Scraps, available HERE at ScrapMatters:

There was just enough Christmas in this kit for me to scrap these photos from last year:

Danyale of Etc. by Danyale lets her coastal Florida home inform her muse when she creates her kits, and this lovely number is no exception.  It's called Morning on The Lake and features plenty of my favorite color:

I was inspired to re-scrap a photo that I recently worked with into a new layout, and I love how it came out:

You can grab Morning on The Lake HERE at The Digichick.

I've got a busy weekend coming up, but I'm determined to carve out some scrapping time, so please come back and see me soon!

Digichicks Around The World!

Happy New Year, all!  It's 2013, and I'm wishing all of you who come to see me here a very happy and healthy year.  A new year brings new fun, and I'm thrilled to be bringing you news in my capacity as a member of the Creative Team at The Digichick.  Many scrapbooking shops release store collaborative kits on a regular basis, and TDC is no exception.  Last year's theme was Tell Your Story Every Day, a nod to scrapping the little things that make up our daily lives.  This year's theme is a little broader in scope...we are travelling the world!  Each month the shop will feature a new collab under the Digichicks Around The World theme.  But every journey needs a beginning, so I present to you the January 2013 collab, Into the Great Unknown:

You can grab the kit on sale HERE, but before you do, make sure you read until the end of this post for a fabulous deal on this and all future 2013 Around The World collabs!  You'll also want to know that in addition to the kit, if you sign up for The Digichick newsletter HERE, you'll have access to a free coordinating minikit, and if you *like* The Digichick's Facebook page, you get a set of free templates! This kit and one of the free templates inspired me to scrap about the beginning of a trip we took in March of 2012:

Here's the scoop on the deal:

Until January 15th, you can purchase a passport HERE that will give you every monthly collab of 2013 PLUS the newsletter and Facebook freebies for each month at a 42% discount!  That's a tremendous amount of scrapping goodness at a great price.  Check it out, and then come back to see me soon!
