P365 Week 30

Here is my page for Week 30 of Project 365. Look, there's actually two photos of John and I! These two homebodies went out not once, but twice this week! Whoo hoo!

30 weeks down, 22 to go!

It's been a little quiet in my scrapping world lately, but there's lots of amazing stuff brewing for the month of August for Val of genia Beana Scraps and her CT...stayed tuned!

P365 Week 29 (and some more shameless self-promotion)

Here is week 29 of my Project 365. I had a busy weekend last week and a very dull midweek, which is why there are 3 garden photos and one cat picture this week, lol! I used an older kit by Maelia Designs that has a sort of grungy feel to it. I'm not sure I like how it came out. But, I rarely go back and change things once they're posted, so there you have it:

Now for the shamelessness...remember how I won favorite layout in the Brownie Scraps Family Reunion Pile It On challenge for week 1? Well, I won favorite layout for week 2 also! The style of the layout (definitely white white space) and subject matter (baby Koi) were very similar, so I'm chalking it up to that. Here is my winning week 2 layout ( my post about week 1's winner is HERE in case you missed it ;} ):

This was a template challenge as well, and I used a kit called Sail Away by Ramona the Pest Designs.

His Teen Scene

Every now and then I get to play with a kit that's geared towards the guys in our lives, which is refreshing for someone who has three daughters! So, here today I give you His Teen Scene by Marshmella Designs. Right now, this kit and everything else in M's store is on sale HERE at GoDigitalScrapbooking for 50% off until the end of the month!

P365 Week 28

Here's week 28 of my Project 365. The weather here has continued to be in the upper 80's and low 90's, which is a good excuse to stay in the den and scrap! It's a slowish time in the digi-scrap world, but I'll be back in a bit with a new kit to show you!

Just Showing Off

A lot of the scrapbooking sites are having special events throughout the summer, and Brownie Scraps is hosting a Family Reunion during the month of July. There are a bunch of different challenges to participate in, and I was rather tickled to get an message today letting me know that one of my layouts was voted the favorite for last week's template challenge. The challenge was one where you were given all the template pieces, but they were all mixed up in no particular order and you assembled the pieces the way you wanted. Here is the mixed-up template:

And here is my winning layout:

The kit I used is Sherbert by Flutterbye Faery Designs. Special thanks to my little great-niece Koi, who I've been seeing a lot of lately and has been a very willing photo subject!

Angels Tend to Dream

Verena Karolyi, a designer at GoDigitalScrapbooking, creates the most gorgeous kits. They're all wildly romantic and so detailed! I've shown you her work before, and now I have a new kit for you to check out---Angels Tend to Dream. AND, you can pick it up at Verena's store HERE at GDS for 50% off!

Here's a page I did with this kit...I started out recoloring a photo to black and white for a challenge at GDS and then got carried away with blending. It's not my usual style but I kinda like it:

P365 Week 27

Time moves on, so here is my week 27 page of Project 365. I was feeling a little blue...here it is, summer half over, and no vacation on the horizon for us this year. So, I decided to cheer myself up a bit by using this very lovely kit called Beach Cottage. It's a collab that Val and a couple of other designers came up with for the May Daze challenges at Elemental Scraps back in May, and since then it's been available in the store HERE. I used it for a Cancun page a few weeks ago, and I'll be using it again for more pages from that 2008 trip:

Here's my P365 page. I used a template by my CT friend Sara, who creates templates under the name of Kaelira DigiScraps:

Going on a Picnic

Continuing on the summertime theme, here is the July collab kit from GoDigitalScrapbooking called Going on a Picnic! With more bright colors and outdoorsy elements, it's perfect for all sorts of summery layouts. And best of all, it's yours FREE with any $10 purchase at the GDS store HERE!

Here's a summer (summer 1995, that is) page for you:

Summer Cook-Out

Hot enough for ya? It's been in the mid-90's here all week. Not horribly unusual for Michigan in the summer, but unpleasant nonetheless. So how about we focus on the fun side of hot summer weather--cookouts! New this week is the latest Elemental Scraps Color Play collection from genia Beana Scraps, called Summer Cook-Out! It has the bright colors and fun themes perfect for this time of year. Take a look, then pick up the collection, divided into mix-and-match parts for $1 each HERE at Elemental Scraps:

P365 Week 26!

Whoo hoo! Halfway through Project 365! I am rather amazed that I stuck with it so long. So many people start in January and fizzle out after a while. Lord knows, I have a pile of uncompleted projects on my desk in the basement to prove that I am a fizzle-out-er like no other. But some stubborn streak has kept me going with this, even when there was not a blessed thing worth photographing more days than not. It helps that I realized after a while that not every photo had to be "art" (hence the numerous cat photos, lol). In any case, here is week 26, using, again, genia Beana's kit He's the Man, and a template by Scrapmuss Designs:
